Launched just before Pesach of 2015, YidClick—a first-of-its-kind online megastore offering Amazon-style service for over 200,000 Jewish products—has fast become the address for thousands of consumers across the nation.
“We’ve been astounded at the response,” says CEO Hirsch Traube, who founded the company after years of frustrating experiences in local Jewish stores. “Sales have doubled each day, but the customer base has also grown geographically. We’re fulfilling hourly orders from across the country.”
Featuring a striking minimalist design, YidClick.com retails products from 10 primary categories: toys, jewelry, clothing, groceries, gifts, houseware, health food, Judaica—and since Succos, wine and silver. The streamlined site has impressed customers with its aesthetic design and ease of navigation, but perhaps its most prominent asset is the niche-specific selection.
“Where else online can you find Chanukah gifts, heimish-produced vitamins, or pieces of women’s apparel—all modest and fashionable?” one Five Towns customer noted.
YidClick’s inventory—unlike that of other online warehouses—is tailored to its target market, precluding the need for endless filtering and browsing, and saving Jewish buyers precious time. In fact, many of its products are marketed nowhere else on the Internet: Yom Tov crafts projects, Jewish-themed therapy materials, Israeli-styled tichels, and more.
Shipping rates are also remarkably competitive: $59 entitles buyers to free shipping, which in many areas translates to same-day or next-day free delivery. And customer response time is fast, leaving no room for the “heimish” service approach that many have learned to tolerate.
“For years, Jewish consumers have put up with substandard retail experiences,” CEO Hirsch Traube asserts. “Schlep to numerous stores, fill up endless shopping carts, wait on lines…I felt it was time for a an alternative. A cheaper, better, smarter alternative.”
YidClick’s team has been gearing up for Chanukah since Succos, and by now the site is fully primed to handle the season’s immense demands.
“You name the gift, we’ll ship it,” Traube says. “Fast.”
The ever-dynamic team is already on to the next step: they’re knee-deep in Purim prep, steadily building up the Internet’s biggest selection of Purim baskets.
“Big or small, fancy or economical, elegant or funky—it’ll be there,” Traube says. “The Jewish world has voted with its patronage. They want an effortless shopping experience, and we’re determined to provide it.”
