Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson have contributed $5 million to Magen David Adom, one of Israel’s emergency medical service agencies. The donation is a first instalment of a pledged donation of $10 million which will be earmarked for the construction of a new blood bank center. The new center will include an underground facility to safeguard the precious resource.
An additional $5 million was raised during a MDA fundraiser in Beverly Hills, California held last week. The event was chaired by Dina and Fred Leeds under the auspices of American Friends of Magen David Adom.
