Police Rescue a Child from a Locked Car in Ashdod on Motzei Shabbos

Police on motzei Shabbos Lech Lecha responded to a call to rescue a 4-year-old child from a locked car in Ashdod. The incident occurred on Makalenberg Street.

Police phoned police hysterically, explaining their son was locked inside the car with the keys inside. Police Sgt. Adir Levy was first on the scene and he immediately broke the window and extricated the child from the car. It should be pointed out that ambient temperatures on Shabbos in some areas were in the high 80s and low 90s F.

Baruch Hashem the child was unharmed. There is no explanation as to why the parents did not break the glass to pull the child out themselves.

  1. “Police phoned police”? Is this trying to say the parents of the child were police and therefore there is the question “Why the parents did not break the glass…themselves”

    They clearly seem to panic. How long was the child in the locked car that she panicked so much?
