A melave malka was held on motzei Shabbos parshas Noach outside the Hadarim Prison in a showing of solidarity with Shomron residents arrested last week after they chased Arabs who attacked a resident’s vehicle with stones earlier.
Some 200 people took part in the melave malka outside the prison, shouting “If this occurred in Ra’anana they would be heroes today”.
Rabbi Menachem Lazar, the father of one of the prisoners who studies in kollel and is a father of six, stated they prisoners deserve a medal for their actions.
Mrs. Iska Tessler, whose husband Avi is among the imprisoned stated had they run to assist someone in Ra’anana they would have been showered with praise for their actions but in the Shomron there is a different reality. The Tesslers and their three children live in Elon Moreh. She added that during a time when Am Yisrael is fighting for survival police find the time to implement an iron fist policy against Jews trying to save the lives of another.
