Security agencies backed by approval of the Security Cabinet on Wednesday, 1 Cheshvan, began sealing some of the entrances to problematic areas of the eastern capital, Arab areas that are the source of many of the recent violent attacks.
The video below shows a crane placing concrete barriers in place at an entrance to Ras el-Amud. Entrances to other Arab neighborhoods are also being closed to limit access to these areas, compelling those coming and going to pass security checkpoints.
The neighborhood of Jabil Mukhaber is included in the list, the community from which a number of the terrorists who recently perpetrated attacks came from. It is situated close to the Jewish neighborhood of Armon HaNatziv.
These are some of the measures approved by the Security Cabinet. In some areas, checkpoints are already in place and residents entering and leaving these areas are subject to inspection as police and other agencies continue working to stop the current wave of Islamic terror, much originating from inside the borders of Jerusalem.
