A terrorist attempted to snatch a soldier’s weapon on a Jerusalem bus on Monday evening before another passenger tried to overpower him; he was ultimately shot dead by police.
Police said that when the attacker failed to grab the gun, he tried to strangle the soldier.
A police officer who was nearby boarded the bus and attempted to tackle the terrorist.
During the struggle, police said, the attacker succeeded in grabbing the officer’s gun.
Another officer who boarded the bus saw the attacker with the pistol and shot him, the police said.
BELOW ARE THE BREAKING REPORTS AS THE STORY UNFOLDED:
20:40: An incident is taking place involving a bus near or under the Jerusalem Cord’s Bridge. According to Ichud Hatzalah, a soldier is wounded. Other reports indicate the terrorist is shooting it out on or near the bus with police. more to follow.
20:48: There is reportedly one person with light-to-moderate wounds and others being treated for hysteria. On the one hand, units operating on the scene confirm the terrorist has been shot dead. On the other hand it is reported the incident is ongoing.
The bus is a 185 that runs the Telshe Stone line and also carries Israeli Arabs from Abu Gosh. More to follow.
20:57: Police spokesman confirms an Arab tried to commander a bus near Binyanei Ha’uma. The bus came to a halt when a civilian engaged the terrorist and B”H a police force was nearby. The police become involved and appears the terrorist grabbed a policeman’s weapon. Additional police arrived and saw the terrorist with the gun and fired at him, killing him.
21:00: A soldier was wounded lightly by a knife, presumably carried by the terrorist before he grabbed a policeman’s gun.
21:04: The area around the Cord’s Bridge and Binyanei Ha’uma including the entrance to the capital from Highway 1 is locked down as a result of the attempted hijack of a public bus.
21:31: The soldier who sustained a knife wound in the attack is now listed in light-to-moderate condition. The soldier was transported to the trauma unit of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

B”H, they killed the dog and got the carcass out of here. This should be the current policy. Shoot to kill any Arab who even “slightly” attempts to commit terrorism.

Why do you keep reporting inaccurately? Again, none of the Hebrew sites report as you have – none of them said that he tried to hijack the bus. He sat in the back next to a soldier and stabbed him and tried to steal his weapon.
