The cabinet, at its weekly meeting on Sunday 28 Tishrei, unanimously approved Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s proposal to impose minimum prison sentences on those who throw rocks, firebombs and fireworks, and to impose fines on minors and their parents.

Prime Minister Netanyahu: “We are doing this as an emergency measure and will consider the extent of its implementation; if need be, we will make the law more severe.”

The new law ministers’ hope will serve as an added deterrence towards halting the current security crisis which involves a sharp increase in Islamic terror attacks.
