Quoted speaking during seudas shlishis on Shabbos Bereshis, Rabbi Eliezer Berland, the leader of the Breslov Shuvu Banim community instructs the government to killed the terrorists who stab Israelis and this will result in the end of the security crisis. Rav Berland is quoted explaining that if the attackers are not killed, the attacks will increase.
Persons attending the seudas shlishis are quoted telling Kikar Shabbos News the seuda lasted some three hours and the rav addressed the security crisis in Israel.
Rabbi Berland instructed his chassidim not to travel to Johannesburg to be with him to avoid harming the local Jewish community.
About 200 people are currently with Rabbi Berland.
Rabbi Berland has been avoiding arrest for over two years, having traveled to a number of countries including Morocco and Zimbabwe. He lost an appeal to the Supreme Court in Holland and faced extradition to Israel to stand trial for alleged assaults against women. The Rabbi managed to flee Holland before he was taken into custody for extradition, presumably to a country that does not have an extradition treaty with Israel.

I wonder why this prestigious site gave such space to a chilul situation. Maybe to warm his chassidim, but it’s doubtful they read this site.

Agree with No. 2….While his chassidim may arguably be “warmed” by seeing him given credibility here on a major news site, giving such recognition diminishes all the hard work done by prosecutors to bring him to justice. He is accused of the most vile and abusive behavior and he mocks the legal system by not returning to EY to face trial. He should not quoted as if his words have any significance or credibility. As to the substance of his comments, if he truly believes that killing a few terrorists will bring an end to the cycle of violence, he has bigger problems than the pending charges.

This is the first time I am posting on YWN because it is the first time my blood was boiling enough to go through the trouble to register. I am sorry. By all counts this man is a menuval and has harmed many many people. Why YWN choses to put up his picture and to post anything he says is beyond me. And if he has anything to say about his innocence let him stand before a Bais din and declare it.
