Widespread protests in northern Israel by Israeli Arab citizens in the past hours. Police are reporting at least 80 arrests have been made as the violence continues.

One of the Israeli Arab municipalities that turned violent on motzei Shabbos Bereshis was Nazareth. The night began with a stormy protest followed by efforts from youths to bloc major streets. Some of the youths had their faces covered with masks as they hurled rocks at security forces.

Northern district Yassam and border police units responded. Seven arrests were made. A large police force was deployed in the area.

Disturbances are also reported in Kfar Manda, Kfar Kana and other Israeli Arab areas.

In Jewish areas including Ramle, there are spontaneous protests by Jews and shouts of “Death to terrorists”.
