Shortly after 20:30 on Wednesday night the eve of 25 Tishrei, an Arab motorist tried to crash the a-Zayim Checkpoint near the entrance to Maale Adumim.

The motorist was stopped for inspection by detectives at Mishor Adumim Jct., a police spokesman’s report explains. He decided to flee during the inspection. The detectives chased after the vehicle while radioing to the force at the a-Zayim Checkpoint. As the vehicle was approaching it was clear the driver was not slowing down. A border policeman aimed at the vehicle and fired at it, wounding the driver.

According to a Shai (Shomron-Yehuda) police report, the driver is a resident of the eastern capital. The incident is under investigation towards making a final determination if it was an act of terror.
