Some describe the situation as drama as the Dushinsky Rebbe Shlita walked away from a tisch on motzei first day of Sukkos because of a smart phone.
The motzei yomtov simchas beis hashoeva was running smoothly until one of the chassidim pulled out a smart phone and began photographing the rebbe. The rebbe’s gabbaim shouted at man to stop and eventually took his phone and erased the photos.
During the ruckus the rebbe reportedly became very upset and decided to leave the yomtov event, to the chagrin and pain of chassidim.

I’d be quite surprised if the perpetrator was one of the Chassidim of the rebbi. He would have known not to flaunt his Smartphone right in front of the rebbi and his close chassidim. This leads me to think that it was a visitor to the simchas beis hashoeva or perhaps it was just a camera and they mistook it for a Smartphone or perhaps the rebbi doesn’t like to be photographed? (though he didn’t seem to mind being photographed in the above picture.)
Did the rebbi leave b/c of the Smartphone/pictures or how his Gabbaim/chassidim reacted?
I’d expect that if it was one of his chassidim that they’d have confiscated the phone altogether and not just delete the pictures.
BTW, how did they know how to delete the pictures?
YWN made a big mistake the reason the REBBE left has nothing to do with the smart phone its because it is brought down in some (chasidishe) SEFORIM that KELIPOS go onto pictures and other COCHOS HATUMAH therfore they dont let to be photographed . I was by a VIZNITZER TISH and i started taking pictures and before i could blink an eye i had five chassidim pouncing on me and they actually grabed the camera away. So it has nothing to do with the smartphone even if it would have been with a camera the same wouldve happened. And if its the smartphone that bothered him he shouldve never gone to the TISH in the first place because he knows all his chasidim have smartphones.
I was actually there. It was one of his chassidim, however it was a video camera not a smart phone. There are signs all over not to take pictures, and apparently the Rebbe was upset particularly because it was one of his chassidim, as there were many outsiders taking pictures beforehand

Why can’t the reason he left the Tish be because the Chassidim and Gabbaim shouted and made a whole story out of a stupid smart phone!
Rebbe’s nowadays are smarter than that.
