A Bayit Vegan resident in his 50s was apprehended by customs agents at Ben-Gurion International Airport as he passed through the Green Line and did not declare 53 shofaros and 40 esrogim in his two suitcases. The man told customs agents he deals with the items he was carrying as he was returning from Morocco.
The passenger was pulled over by customs agents, instructed to place his bags on the x-ray after he appeared suspicious to one of the agents.

Sad state of affairs when bringing esrogim into Eretz Yisroel in a shmitta year is called smuggling. And what is wrong with bringing in shofaros?
Nothing is wrong, but declare them and pay the tax! Had he declared the shofros and paid the tax he would have been able to bring the esrogim as well. On the other hand, Perhaps these were made in Israel and he was just trying to sell them abroad. Then he would not have to pay, but I still think he would be required to declare them.
