After not speaking for a period of two years, Health Minister Yaakov Litzman met with Yisrael Beitenu party head MK Avigdor Lieberman in the Knesset cafeteria. The two stopped speaking as a result of machlokes involving the last mayoral race in Jerusalem. The meeting was brokered by Orli Levi, who is an advisor to Litzman and a close friend of Lieberman.
Perhaps the meeting marks a renewal of cooperation as the two have been political allies in the past. Some opine that since Lieberman’s position has been weakened in the current Knesset, a member of the opposition instead of being a senior cabinet minister, he is increasingly willing to take the step to mend fences with Litzman.
