Leaders of the Degel Hatorah faction of Yahadut Hatorah convened in party headquarters in Bnei Brak on Sunday evening 15 Elul along with rabbonim shlita affiliated with the party. Taking part in the meeting were HaGaon HaRav Nosson Zuchovsky and HaGaon HaRav Yosef Efrati, members of the party’s leadership.

The rabbonim spoke of the need of strengthen educational institutions affiliated with Degel. They also brought a bracha to the forum from Gedolei Yisrael Shlita. They discussed the opening of the new school year and praised the fact that there were no major problems associated with this.

MKs Uri Maklev and Moshe Gafne gave the forum a briefing on their activities in Knesset which included detailing their efforts on behalf of the chareidi community and implementation of the coalition agreements.

The main topic of discussion were the concerns expressed by participants surrounding the increase in chilul Shabbos in Yerushalayim and nationwide.

In Rishon L’Tzion last Shabbos, bus service was operating to transport residents from areas of the city to the beach. This joins the growing chilul Shabbos seen R”L around the country.
