The state prosecutor has decided to appeal the punishment handed down against the defendants in the case of the arson attack against the Jerusalem Bilingual School. The defendants, Nachman Tuito and his brother Shlomo, were sentenced to 2.5 and 2 years imprisonment respectively. In response to the state’s position, Honenu attorney Itamar Ben-Givir explains it is interesting that the state never seems to appeal convictions of defendants who set shuls on fire.
The prosecutor has filed an appeal with the High Court of Justice in the hope of having stiffer prison terms handed down against the brothers for the attack that occurred in November 2014.
