HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita has released a letter backing the decision of HaGaon HaRav Shimon Ba’adani, that there will only be one Sephardi seminary in Elad, the Lieberman Seminary, as it is referred to.
Rav Cohen, who is the head of the Shas party Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael, has come out publically supporting Rav Ba’adani’s position. In his letter to Shas leader Aryeh Deri, Rav Cohen explains that this is his position and Shas should do what it can towards having one large Sephardi seminary in the city for all of the girls under the leadership of Rabbi Yeshayahu Lieberman, who abilities in the education of bnos yisrael Rav Cohen praises in the letter, giving his bracha for the initiative.
Rav Cohen turned to Elad Mayor Yisrael Porush and asked him to use the authority of his office to assist in the project, the development of the seminary for the girls from Sephardi homes.
