An IDF Navy officer was jailed for five days for sending a text message to Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon’s cell phone asking him to throw him out of the military.
According to the report the text message stated “I am officer L. I have no task. Discharge me from the IDF”. Ya’alon passed the message to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkott who passed it to the officer’s commanders. He was sentenced to five days in jail for his actions. It is added the text message was sent to the minister very late at night.
The officer is an economist deployed in naval shipyard dealing with equipment and he has been trying to get released from his post for a number of months. He sent the text message to the minister after previous efforts to get out of the IDF failed.
The IDF Spokesman explains the officer is in an academic program and he has committed to a period of military service. His unacceptable behavior was addressed by his commanders who pointed out that he was out of line by turning to a politician, taking his issue out of the military and this is why he was jailed. The officer has already completed the five days in jail, has returned to service and it appears he is not trying to get a release from the IDF for the time being.

sounds draconian for sending a text, but then again Zionists let out Arab murders but imprison Jews for thinking right wing ideology. No Jew should serve in the Zionist army.
