Degel Hatorah Chairman MK Moshe Gafne met in Bnei Brak on Sunday 8 Elul with Bnei Brak Mayor Chanoch Zeibert of Agudas Yisrael. The meeting was held in the city’s Degel Hatorah headquarters and both men declined to comment regarding what was discussed during the meeting.
Some people in the know in Agudas Yisrael stated the meeting surrounding issues according to Gafne regarding land allocations in Bnei Brak. The litvish community feels the mayor is discriminating against them and City Hall is not working hand-and-hand with Degel officials.
Officials close to Gafne deny the accuracy of this speculative report, explaining Zeibert requested the meeting and the matter of land acquisitions was not discussed.
Ladaat News reports Gafne asked Zeibert to sign the required documents to permit paying Degel party activists from the party’s coffer pertaining to their activities in the last elections.
Some report that as general manager of Agudas Yisrael Zeibert has not signed off to permit paying many activists despite the fact the elections passed a long time ago.
