The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday, 21 Menachem Av that Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto may travel abroad for continued medical care. He may remain in the United States for six weeks to undergo an operation related to his cancer.
Justice Anat Brown accept the position of the rabbi’s legal team. Pinto’s attorney told the court that the rabbi did comply with court orders to return in the past and there is no reason to believe he will not continue doing so in the future. The court accepted his position. The rabbi must forfeit NIS 1 million prior to leaving Israel.
