מתוך שלא לשמה בא לשמה? Due to an announced strike at Ben-Gurion International Airport, the facilty will shut down when Shabbos starts Friday night Parshas Eikev, and it will remain closed until after Shabbos. The strike impacts manpower agency employees. Airport officials report that emergency services at the airport will not be affected.
The labor union decided that in light of failed negotiations aimed at bringing in additional workers, they are calling the Shabbos strike.
An airport spokesperson says that about 30,000 people and 200 flights pass though the airport during Shabbos.
The Histadrut national labor federation declared a ‘work dispute’ at the airport over a month ago over this very same matter, which means a strike can be called at any moment.
