Police during the night of 18 Menachem Av (Sunday to Monday) stopped a vehicle for inspection on Route 5 in the Shomron district. The white Skoda sedan was driving in such a way that it attracted the attention of Shai (Shomron-Yehuda) police. An inspection revealed the driver is a resident of the PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Siris.

During an inspection of the vehicle police found an axe, which the driver insisted is for self-defense only. The axe was on the floor next to his feet.

The driver was taken in for questioning and the axe was confiscated.
