An Arab man told police that he was assaulted by three Jewish men after leaving a Lod mosque. According to the victim, they shouted that the Arabs must be ousted from the city. Police arrested suspects in the case.
The victim, Imad Abu Srak is active in the Islamic Association and he explained the attack occurred when he left the mosque during the predawn hours. He told the media “They shouted at me ‘smelling Arab get out of the city’ and I was unable to fight them off. I shouted for assistance but there was no one and I passed out. I remained there bleeding until people saw me and called for assistance and I was taken to the hospital”.
Police investigating the case learned the victim fabricated the story and in fact, he was assaulted by Arabs due to a family dispute, with no connection to the mosque and the reported hate attack. He simply felt the atmosphere in the country was right to take advantage of being beaten and blame Jews.
Three Arab residents of Lod are in custody on suspicion of beating the man.

As for the arson attack, the police will never find the perpetrators. They are looking in the wrong place. Tell ’em to look by the Arabs.

This is so typical. Before those of you blame Jews for any act, remember this story. There have been hundreds of them.
The retraction is never remembered, if it is reported at all.
Kudos to the police for being able – and willing – to do such an investigation and discover the facts. It’s pretty impressive given an atmosphere of distrust and there being much to be gained politically by banding together and supporting the false accusations.
No, it can’t be Arabs. It was definitely Jews (probably some Racist settlers) that beat the man. They are clearly covering this up. I demand that the 2 Chief Rabbi’s & the Prime Minister/President immediately go on a new apology tour to the Abu Srak family! This can not be tolerated!
