Israel Police has sent a letter to Jerusalem light rail union officials after the latter launched a strike Sunday morning without any prior warning. Some 140,000 riders rely on the light rail daily and with vacation time upon us the strike will leave many frustrated and angry residents and visitors to the capital.
The letter signed by the chief of operations points out the unannounced strike has consequences pertaining to general welfare and peace in the city and many passengers will be found gathered together at stops waiting for trains and this compromises the welfare of the pubic in the view of police.
