An 18-year-old woman became the latest victim of an assault at the promenade adjacent to the Armon HaNatziv neighborhood of the capital. The assault occurred during night of the eve of 14 Menachem Av, Wednesday night to Thursday morning. The victim finished her shift in the simcha hall at the promenade where she works as a waitress and went to hail a taxi to her home when two Arabs approached her and attacked her to steal her bag.
Earlier in the week police arrested Arab juveniles involved in previous attacks at the location, which borders a number of Jerusalem Israeli Arab neighborhoods.
They began punching her and stole her phone. B’chasdei Hashem she ran and managed to get away from the attackers. She ran towards the main road in the hope of seeing someone who would assist her. Border police arrived on the scene along with police and they drove around in the hope of finding her attackers.
The victim’s mother, Yafeh told Yerushalayim.net “Where is the security for our children, for us? Just this week we heard of arrests regarding assaults at the same location but the situation continues. My daughter was traumatized and this is unacceptable”.
At the time of this report, the suspects involved in the latest attack remain at large.
