The IDF on Sunday, 11 Menachem Av, called up thousands of reservists to evaluate their response in the event of an emergency. In actuality, hundreds of thousands received notification of a General Staff exercise, but only thousands will actually report to a base and take part in a two-day exercise measuring their abilities in the event of a true emergency.

Many branches of the military are included, among them infantry, homefront command, navy, air force, and others. IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkott is closely monitoring the nationwide training event.

Regarding the air force, in addition to measuring response personnel will have to neutralize enemy offensive weaponry while the navy targets targeting the enemies’ infrastructure.

In the Northern Command, a large exercise will take place and company commanders will report to their assigned areas and then bring their troops to designated combat stations. They will address missile attacks from Hizbullah. In the Southern Command, soldiers will run numerous exercise that cover an array of battle scenarios involving Gaza.
