A talmid in the Sderot Hesder Yeshiva was injured in an attempted robbery on Shabbos. According to the police complaint, a young man entered the yeshiva demanding money. When the complainant refused, the intruder brandished a knife and cut him in his neck. B’chasdei Hashem his injury was light. A short time later police arrested the 19-year-old suspect near the yeshiva.
According to Kippa News, there have been several thefts of smartphones from the yeshiva of late. A 60-year-old resident of the southern city has been taken into custody. Police learned he entered the yeshiva asking to use a restroom, then making off with property which he reportedly sold to finance a drug habit. Much of the property taken was recovered.
