The terrorist responsible for the murder of Danny Gonen HY”D in a shooting attack on an erev Shabbos near Yishuv Dolev has been apprehended.

After the fatal attack a wave of arrests were made in the area including terrorists operating in Ramallah and these terrorists admitted to taking part in a number of attacks including the murder of Gonen. The members of the cell admitted to perpetrating a number of shooting attacks against security forces in the Kalandia area before murdering Gonen. The arrests also led to the discovery and confiscation of weapons and ammunition.

Cell Members include Mahmud Abu Shahin, born in 1985 and a resident of the Kalandia refugee camp. He is aligned with the Tanzim military wing of Fatah. He took part in a number of shooting attacks. He fired at Gonen.

Amjad Iduan, born in 1980, is also a resident of Kalandia. He was imprisoned in Israel a number of times with the most recent being May –December 2008 for illegal arms sales and he has participated in shooting and bomb attacks.

Ashraf Amar, born in 1991, is also a resident of Kalandia and active in the PA (Palestinian Authority) military intelligence. He was imprisoned in Israel from January 2010 until December 2011 for his part in illegal weapons deals. He was released in the second wave of the Shalit deal.

Mahmud Iduan, born in 1978, a resident of Kalandia is not affiliated with a terror organization. He was hiding the handgun used to murder Gonen.
