Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s re-election campaign says it has more than $12.6 million on hand after raising just under $5.2 million since January.
Cuomo’s latest campaign finance filing shows he raised $5 million in contributions and made another $195,000 from interest and contributions from the state Democratic Party.
Almost $1.4 million of Cuomo’s contributions came from limited liability companies. Contributions from LLCs are not subject to the same campaign finance limits imposed on corporations. Groups such as Common Cause and the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University say that loophole allows wealthy donors to wield significant influence over state government without identifying themselves.
The new campaign finance totals come from a report filed with state election officials on Wednesday.
