Refoenu Medical Referrals and Advocacy Center for Chicago Division of the Chicago Center for torah and chessed held its annual health and safety fair on Sunday. In conjunction with Chicago Hatzalah and Chaverim, the fair took place at the JCC of West Rogers Park community.
The fair hosted the Chicago Fire Department which demonstrated how to put out a fire. Additionally the Chicago FD brought a survival home that has fake smoke and teaches children how to crawl out of a burning home.
Hatzalah had an ambulance at the fair ambulance and did wellness checks for the community.
Chaveirim demonstrates how they deal with car-lock-outs, flat tires, and did car inspections including wiper installations.
Bike ambassador did bike safety and helmet fitting.
Poison control showed children the difference between candy and chemicals and medications.
Chicago police did carseat checks.
Pharmacists spoke about proper medication care.
JCFS spoke about child safety with strangers.
Madraigos Chicago spoke to parents about emotional health for teenagers. Refreshments were taken care of by Snacks To Go.
JCC spoke to children about water and sports safety.
Refoenu is the one stop Center for all medical needs in Chicago. It is directed by Rabbi Yisroel Matzliach. It includes medical referrals and advocacy in all Chicago hospitals.
