VIDEO: Controversy Regarding Movie on Convicted Rabin Assassin Yigal Amir

amirAs the Jerusalem Film Festival prepared to open in the coming days, there is controversy surrounding a film on Yigal Amir, the convicted assassin of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin and his wife, Dr. Trembovler and their children.

Amir has been sentenced to life in prison but has married since and had children.

Director Hertz Frank does not appear to have an agenda, but more to bring the story of Trembovler to the public eye. Trembovler explains “I am not among those who viewed him as a hero, but a child. I think it was an act of despair”.

  1. The reason this film is controversial is because people do not want to know what really happened with the murder of Rabin, particularly the involvement of Israeli spy Raviv. Another good question is why Rubinstein, who now judges on the Israeli supreme court, basically refused to prosecute him. If one examines this thing, it is even not clear if Amir was the plotter who actually pulled the trigger on Rabin. It also starts people wondering what really happened with Kennedy assassination.

It shouldn’t. Investigation after investigation has shown that there is no evidence that Kennedy was shot by anyone other than Lee Harvey Oswald, or that anyone other than Oswald was involved. The KGB archives also showed that the Soviet government wanted nothing to do with him and kicked him out of the USSR.

Why the government did not keep Oswald under constant 24 hour surveillance given that he was clearly dangerous and that they knew that he had publicly said that he wanted to kill Kennedy is a good question. But the assassination itself was simply a lone Oswald.
