Jerusalem Chief Rabbi Aryeh Stern Shlita met this week with senior NYPD commanders in New York City. The rav discussed relevant matters with the senior police commanders. The NYPD visit was part of the rav’s visit to the USA where he was meeting with RCA officials.
During his meeting with police, Rabbi Stern met with Chief of Community Affairs Bureau Joanna Jaffe, NYPD Chief Surgeon Dr. Eli Kleinman, and other commanders. Of course, NYPD Chief Chaplain Assistant Chief Rabbi Alvin Kass was present too. They discussed a number of matter pertaining to the Jewish community, with the senior police officials seeking the rav’s opinion. Rabbi Stern spoke of the connection between Israel and the US, as well as the Jewish People and Americans. He praised the department and its ongoing effort in the war against anti-Semitism.
When the meeting concluded there were a number of Jewish policemen who heard of the Jerusalem Chief Rabbi’s visit, and were waiting outside to meet him and greet him, some seeking his bracha.
