Mike Freer MP Welcomes Action to Move Neo-Nazi Demonstration away from Golders Green

gg4Finchley and Golders Green MP, Mike Freer, has welcomed the actions taken by the Metropolitan Police to move the planned anti-Semitic demonstration to Westminster. The protest will now take place in Central London on July 4th after it was decided that a Golders Green location would present a risk to the safety of people in the area.

Mike comments “I welcome the action taken by the Police to move the demonstration well out of harm’s way. Golders Green was obviously chosen as the original location as the protestors planned to incite racial hatred. We do have freedom of speech in this country but the message is clear – anti-Semitism has no place on our streets.

I will continue to work with the Metropolitan Police, the Prime Minister and Home Secretary as the safety of local people is of paramount importance.”

  1. why don’t the police just cancel this anti-semitic, nazi protest?
it’s like covering the wound with a plaster, but not treating the wound!

I’m not a lawmaker. But I understand that here in the UK, it’s not so simple to cancel it. They can only limit it as much as possible,

  3. didn’t nazi germany begin the same way? slowly slowly inticing the crowds against the jews…
i’m sure the moslems swarming london are quite happy that people have their eyes off them for the mo.

  4. It would have been better to leave this in Golders Green and ignore them when no-one would have paid these clowns any attention. In Westminster, Central London they will have crowds of onlookers. British law like our great constitution protects freedom of speech. Banning rallies like this is not so simple.

  5. I think in America, even with our great Constitution, you would have a pretty strong case against a protest holding up “gas the Jews” and “clear them out” signs. And if th eprotest was against African Americans, you’d never be able to do that! There are laws against hate speech and inciteful speech in public.
