Authorities say a 64-year-old man has been arrested on charges he called in nearly a dozen bomb threats targeting John F. Kennedy Airport travelers and law enforcement officers.
The Queens district attorney’s office says Philip Ngom, of Manhattan, was arraigned Saturday on charges of falsely reporting an incident and making a terroristic threat.
He’s being held on $750,000 bail. Information on his lawyer was not immediately available.
Prosecutors say the man called 911 11 times in the span of 16 days in June, sometimes calling in more than one bomb threat in a single day. They say he stated that he was planting chemical bombs and or explosives containing nails at Kennedy Airport.
If convicted, Ngom faces up to 7 years in prison. He’s due back in court July 10.
