An officer in the Jerusalem district of Israel Police has been ordered to pay 20,000 NIS to a chareidi man whose peyos were torn off when he was arrested and handcuffed in a police station.
The case against police was handled by attorney Itamar Ben-Givir, who told the court that following the arrest of the chareidi man, he was taken to the Jerusalem district station and the officer in question used any and every excuse to pull the man’s peyos, which he eventually pulled out in part in a violent act, causing the man significant harm and suffering.
The officer did not stop here, but he stood the suspect against a wall and continued to elbow him in his ribs, accusing his prisoner of assaulting him and explaining he used force in self-defense.
A complaint was filed against the officer with the Justice Ministry’s Police Investigation Unit and the civil suit was filed in the Jerusalem Magistrate Court. The plaintiff was seeking 50,000 NIS but received only 20,000 NIS.

Why didn’t they give him the full 50,000?
For that, and for the police officer to be forced to resign, they’d need a person to film it and for hareidim to get out on the streets en masse in violent demonstrations.
Oh! and they’d need the Left to take an interest in the case.
Remind you of something?
a measly 20,000 shekels-it should be 2 million!
Because he’s not an arab
Count this as a hoda’a b’miktzas…
