B’chasdei Hashem, Netanel Hadad survived his gunshot injuries sustained in the erev Shabbos terror attack near Dolev in the Shomron. Lod resident 25-year-old Danny Gonen HY”D was murdered in that attack. LINK to ARTICLE NUMBER 1

Gonen spoke with Ynet, recounting the fatal attack that claimed his friend’s life.

The two visited a spring near Yishuv Dolev, located in the Binyamin Regional Council district of Shomron. They parked in an area near the spring they wanted to enter and when they got out they only saw Araba in the spring, prompting them to turn around and head for their car. They began heading out of the area when their car was surrounded by other vehicles. One of the Arabs approached them on foot to speak to them.

Netanel explains he opened the window as the approaching man was smiling. He asked about water conditions in the spring, and they said “fine”. He then turned and walked, but stopped and turned around and fired at the vehicle from point blank range from the front of the car.

Gonen was in cardiac arrest and Hadad unbuckled his seatbelt and began CPR despite being wounded himself. A number of Arab vehicles passed, and one stopped and when he understood it was a terror attack, he fled the scene.

Danny was a talmid in a yeshiva in Maale Adumim headed by Rav Chaim Sabato. Hadad did survive B”H, listed in stable/light-to-moderate condition. The levaya for Gonen took place on motzei Shabbos. The terrorist remains at large.
