Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai announced during a Shabbos cultural event that he is considering entering the Labor party leadership race after several persons have approached him to join that race.

Speaking to Kol Berama Radio on Sunday morning, 4 Tammuz, explaining he does not believe that Huldai will enter the race, and even if he does, he will not beat current leader Yitzchak Herzog. Cable questioned how Huldai would be capable to bring the party from 15 to 24 seats as Herzog succeeded in doing in the 20th Knesset elections.

When asked why he is not running for the leadership slot, Cabel said “everything in its time. I am backing Herzog and I have promised him my backing. That said, the day after I will begin working to position myself to run against Herzog in the future”.
