sanz.jpgA 90-year-old Canadian man, R’ Yishai Rosenberg, was given an aliyah to the Torah on Shabbos with the Sanzer Rebbe Shlita. The man donated $2 million towards building a shul for the chassidus in Tiveria.

The rebbe is in the midst of a visit to the United States. During the visit the rebbe dedicated a shul in Monsey, NY. He participated in a number of events, including visits to other admorim.

This past Shabbos hundreds of chassidim joined the rebbe in a hotel. Supporters of the chassidus made sizable contributions. When R’ Rosenberg received an aliyah, during the mi’sheberach he announced a donation of $2 million for a shul in Tiveria.

The rebbe met with him on motzei Shabbos to thank him personally for his generosity.

  1. Very nice to know that there are still even in these difficult economic times, baalei tzedakah v’chesed around who know where is the right place to make their investments.

  2. We only need $250,000 for our new High school that is quite innovative – we put the students & their academic, social & emotional well-being first. Accepting applications from students & professionals. Maybe Reb Rosenberg or another forward-thinking benefactor will help us. That would be nice.

  3. AS THE CHOFETZ CHAIM IS REPORTED TO HAVE SAID TO R’ MEIR SHAPIRO, ‘ I AM NOT MEKANEH (JEALOUS) YOU FOR CREATING DAF HAYOMI. RATHER I AM JEALOUS OF THE MITZVAH THAT YOU DID WHICH CAUSED YOU TO CREATE DAF HAYOMI!!
SO TOO, KOL HAKAVOD, MR ROSENBERG! WISHING YOU LONG & HEALTHY YEARS.
