Lakewood Organics of Miami, Florida has recalled a shipment of “Coconut Fresh-Pressed Juice” sold in 32 fluid ounce glass jars. This product is a blend of coconut, water, pear and other fruit juices which includes NON-KOSHER organic white grape juice. It inadvertently was labeled with a KOF-K symbol. The affected shipment has a best buy date of April 9th – June 5th, 2017.
Any package bearing one of the following codes on the cap is NOT KOSHER: 246E, 246D, 246B, 245V, 245U, 245N, 245J, 245G, 245E, 244V, 244U, 244G. The code and corresponding best by date can be found on the CAP of each bottle. Rabbi Mordechai Levin, Senior Kashrus Coordinator/ Ingredient Department of the KOF-K, explained that any product containing grape juice, produced by this company, requires a mashgiach temidi on the premises supervising the entire run. Due to a printing error, the KOF-K kosher symbol was mistakenly printed on the label for this product. Corrective measures have been taken.
Any consumer who purchased this product with the aforementioned codes can return it to the store for a full refund. It is suggested they bring this notice as confirmation.
