State inspectors apprehended another shipment of treif meat which also poses a health hazard to the tzibur since it lacks veterinary supervision. The shipment that was intercepted originated in the Um el-Fahm area in northern Israel, an Israeli Arab region known as Nachal I’ron or Wadi Ara.
A 700kg (1,543 lbs.) shipment of beef packaged in cartons was confiscated. During questioning persons involved admitted the meat was intended for a wedding scheduled to take place, adding while the shipment originated in Nachal I’ron the meat originated in a PA (Palestinian Authority) area.
Inspectors adds the meat was not refrigerated or monitored as the law demands. The meat was confiscated and destroyed.
