A ceremony was held in Knesset on Tuesday, 22 Sivan completing the writing of a Sefer Torah, which was donated to the Knesset shul. The Sefer Torah was written in memory of the hundreds of thousands of partisans, members of the underground and ghetto fighters HY”D murdered by the Nazis YS”VZ and those who worked with them.
Taking part in the event were Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, opposition leader MK Yitzchak Herzog, MKs Avigdor Lieberman, Yisrael Eichler, Robert Elituv, Yitzchak Vaknin, Eliezer Moses, Yoav Ben-Tzur, Yoav Kish, Yoel Hasson, Deputy Minister Yaron Mazuz, rabbonim, other public officials and guests.
Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi and Chairman of the Yad Vashem Council Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita addressed the event and took part in completing the Sefer too. The participants carried the new Sefer Torah from the auditorium to the Knesset Shul as they were accompanied by music and dance.
Knesset legal counsel Eyal Yinon explained the Sefer Torah cannot remain in the Knesset shul because of the regulation which prohibits accepting gifts in Knesset. It is unclear where the Torah will be housed in light of Yinon’s ruling.

And these people with the hats and beards – if they had to go to the bathroom in the middle of davening – would bring their tefilin into the bathroom?
i think you need to check your glatta kup to make sure its kosher (not just glat)
Excuse me glatta_kup,
Are you trying to call the knesset Shul a bathroom? I certainly hope not.
to #2 – so you’re saying that I am glatt, just not kosher. I guess it depends on one’s standard of kashrus. Just like a while ago some conservative org passeled some hechsheirm.
to # 3- sorry for the misunderstanding – you are right, its not like as bathroom, its probably alot worse.
Ok mr glattakup,
You are clearly and sadly so incredibly ignorant and biased that you fail to comprehend what you’re saying and how many people you’re affecting. Do you know that the same knesset which you deem worse than a bathroom gives millions of shekels to yeshivot in eretz yisrael every year, making it the largest supporter of Torah in history? I didn’t think you did. Oh, did you know that the same Knesset which you deem worse than a bathroom also is responsible for millions of Jewish lives, whether they be chareidi, dati leumi, chiloni? And did you realize that you just called the rabbis pictured celebrating a Torah to be “not frum”?
Yeah, maybe pay attention to what you say next time.
glatta,
no i’m comparing you to triangle-k’s definition of glatt kosher which most of the velt hold isn’t (you have an extra hole somwhere)
