Housing Minister (Kulanu) Yoav Gallant visited Har HaZeisim on Wednesday 23 Sivan after News 04 revealed once again, tens of matzeivos have been damaged by vandals. This time the kevarim in the Afghanistan section were hit by Arabs.
While these alarming attacks occur regularly, little has been done to protect the matzeivos amid government and security agencies passing responsibility from one agency to another.
The minister, who recently assumed the post, expressed shock over seeing the damage. The Housing Ministry is responsible for the security of the site. The minister indicates he will be increasing the budget for security and will order additional initiatives to prevent future attacks. Gallant, a retired IDF major-general is signaling he does not plan to take the unacceptable situation in Har HaZeisim lightly.

Mr. Gallant, you will be judged by your actions, not words. I just cant understand why the Israeli Government doesn’t care about this. This is crazy.
Looking at the Matzeivo on the picture, no-doubt the family were there on Monday @17th Johrzeit, and what a horrific heart-wrenching site for them to have to encounter.
