In his address to the Herzliya Conference, MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Moshe Gafne exclaimed “Our cause is just and we are correct but I am in favor of continuing the diplomatic process even if one comes and says ‘we have no one to speak with’”.
I have suggested to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that perhaps we should be speaking with US President Barak Obama rather than saying “we are correct”.
Using the same forum to get her message across, Meretz party leader MK Zahava Gal-On stated “The time will come when Israel will have to decide if maintain the settlements is worth the sacrifice, the delegitimization of Israel in the international community”.

and how does one go about doing this?
Ms. Meretz it ain’t the “settlement” that are a deterrent to peace. Go study modern day Israeli history.
Reb Gafni, can u explain how to speak, pursue, engage & further peace talks with a non-existent partner????
Wow, such brilliance. I guess Gafne wants to set up chairs by the mirror, so we can talk to ourselves.
The other genius, Gal-On, isn’t bright enough to learn from Gush Katif. If we, ch’v withdrew from the so-called Settlements, the entire Country is indefensible.
We, at least, have Emunah, Gal-On has none. So who will she rely on to save her skin?
1. No one cares what Gafne thinks about foreign affairs – under the Israeli system his party is not one that needs to be consulted on such matters.
2. Saying one should keep communication lines open is a no brainer – no one says otherwise.
3. The settlements Israel needs to give up to end the war include Tel Aviv, Hadera, Ramat Gan, etc. Anything established the last few centuries is “occupation” as far as the Palestinians are concerned. But what does that have to do with Gafne?
If Moshe Gafne can’t even speak respectfully of charedim who work, how does he propose to do so with the anti-Jews in the Arab World and in the White House?
