Amid reports of significant debts incurred in the Knesset elections, Eli Yishai and his Yachad party are preparing to launch a weekly newspaper under the direction of the party’s mora d’asra HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita.
Reports state Yishai has an investor to back the newspaper, which is his response to the Shas party’s Yom L’Yom newspaper. With Rav Mazuz responsible for approving content, one can expect the newspaper to remain in chareidi format, which begs the question regarding the dati leumi torani supports of the party. There is speculation regarding the format and if photos of women will appear or if the newspaper will follow the format of other chareidi newspapers in Israel.
There have been reports that Yishai is selling his apartment towards covering the 10 million NIS debt incurred during elections. Yishai stated the sale of his apartment is simply because he does not wish to maintain two apartments.
