The first meeting of the Knesset Finance Committee in the 20th Knesset was held on Monday evening 14 Sivan. The committee members unanimously approved the appointment of MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Moshe Gafne as chairman. An impressive number of ministers were present for the event as Nissim Slomiansky (Bayit Yehudi) turned over control of the committee to Gafne. Included among the VIPs was Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Gafne served as committee chair in the 18th Knesset too. PM Netanyahu said “There is no one better for the committee’s work than you” in his praise of Gafne. Also present were Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, Economy Minister Aryeh Deri and Health Minister Yaakov Litzman.
Gafne received good wishes from coalition and opposition MKs alike.
