The New York State Police at Wurtsboro announce the arrest of an 18 year old male from Wurtsboro for two counts of Arson in the Fifth Degree, misdemeanors, with several similar charges pending.
This arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the New York State Police and the New York State Forest Rangers during which it was determined that someone had intentionally set several brush fires in and around the Town of Mamakating between mid-April and mid-May. The investigation by the two agencies led to an 18 year old suspect who allegedly committed these acts. The suspects identity is being withheld due to his eligibility for Youthful Offender status.
The suspect was arrested and processed at SP Wurtsboro and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Mamakating Court.
