America has given the approval for the sale of 5,000 pound laser-guided bunker-busting bombs to Israel. The $1.87 billion deal has received Pentagon and State Department approval.
The deal also approves the transfer of 3,000 hellfire missiles, which were held back last summer during Operation Protective Edge, the IDF counter-terrorism offensive against Hamas in Gaza. Congress must now approve the deal, which will clear the way for the transfer of the advanced weaponry.
Other weapons in the package include 50 BLU-113 Super Penetrator and 700 BLU-109 Penetrator bunker buster missiles.
The Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency released a statement highlighting the US’ commitment to Israel’s security. “The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to US national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability.”

There will be a need for those bunker busting bombs if the reports of new Gaza terror tunnels are true.
They need the 30,000 pound bunker busters. The 5000 pound bombs are good for Hamas and Hezbollah underground bunkers and tunnels. They are completely ineffective for Iranian subterranean purposes.
I love it but I’m confused!
What caused the seemingly change of heart???
Iran, here we come.
Even the 30K bunker busters will not take out Iran’s facilities…Israel either needs to detonate a nuclear weapon in Iran’s upper atmosphere to destroy their entire technology grid and send them back to the stone age – or else take out their leadership with cruise missiles while they are all together – meeting in parliament, for example.
