Eliezer Oferi, 21, was sentenced to one-year imprisonment in a plea bargain agreement with the prosecution after being found guilty of attacking an Arab man in Jerusalem in October 2014. The attack was unprovoked, as the prosecutor told the court the man was targeted simply because he was an Arab.

Justice Amnon Cohen decided the man must be imprisoned in addition to paying the victim 1,000 NIS. Two of the defendant’s brothers, Shlomo (30) and David (28) were also involved in the attack and they are in the midst of reaching a plea bargain agreement.
