In 2013, Mrs. Avivit Shear lost her family in the fire that swept through their Rechovot home. The fire claimed the lives of her husband Guy (38), along with their children Eliav (11), Evyatar (8), Amitai (7), Shira (3), and Itamar (1) z”l.

On Monday, 29 Iyar 5775, Mrs. Shear had a moment of nachas as a Sefer Torah was dedicated in their memories. Among those taking part in the simcha were a few city officials including Rechovot Mayor Rachamim Malul, Deputy Mayor Matan Dil, as well as a number of councilmen.

Mrs. Shear has since remarried and has found the koach to endure and continue with her life.
