A major Israel Police investigation has led to 50 arrests, Israel Police Chief Yochanan Danino reported on Monday, 29 Iyar.
In his address to an Israel Bar Association conference in Eilat, Danino spoke of the investigation of leading crime associations, adding the arrests address some of the worst murders that occurred in Israel over recent years. Danino explained he is not able to detail the investigation and arrests due to a gag order, but he did call it the most important investigation into organized crime in Israel’s history.
Danino praised his department, citing that serious crime has dropped significantly and murders are lowest in two decades. He added the homicide rate in the United States per 1,000 residents is 1,000 times higher than in Israel.

Unless I’m mistaken, that would mean that there is a 100% homicide rate in America. That is obviously not correct.
Wikipedia reports that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reported that in 2012 the homicide rate per 100,000 capita in the United States was 4.7 while in Israel it was 1.8.
