Under the banner “stopping the robbery of the Settlement Division” the left-wing Meretz part is challenging the coalition agreement between Likud and the Bayit Yehudi party. Meretz hope the nation’s highest court will eliminated the components of the coalition agreement that give control over the World Zionist Organization Settlement Division to the dati leumi party.

Meretz officials explain the “settlement division” is a vehicle to channel “millions of shekels in taxpayer funds over the Green Line annually”, and now Meretz wants to take disqualified.

Meretz feels that with the dati leumi part controlling these funds, the public coffers are being “robbed and the situation cannot be tolerated”.
